Namibia Visa for Afghanistan Citizens 2026

Afghan citizens must obtain a Namibia e-Visa before travel by applying online via the official Namibian e-Visa portal linked from mha.gov.na; processing times, required documents and fees are published on the portal.

What you need

  • Passport validity: Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry and have at least 2 blank visa pages.
  • Specific forms: Namibia uses an online e-Visa application; no DS-160 or VAF forms; complete the Namibian e-Visa form online.
  • Financial proof: There is no fixed minimum amount listed on the official portal; applicants should show funds sufficient to cover travel, accommodation and return trip.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Proof of accommodation for the first nights and a return or onward ticket is recommended and may be requested.
  • Photo spec: Passport-style photograph, 35x45 mm (2x2 inches) with a white background, in color.
  • Biometrics: Online e-Visa does not require in-person biometrics at submission; if biometric data is requested later, you will be notified.
  • Travel health insurance: Recommended; not always required but advisable to cover medical expenses during stay.

  • Tourist e-Visa: Official name Namibia Tourist e-Visa; Validity: 90 days from issue; Maximum stay per entry: up to 30 days; Entry: Single; Approx fee: NAD 1,000 (USD ~70).
  • Business e-Visa: Official name Namibia Business e-Visa; Validity: 90 days from issue; Maximum stay: up to 30 days; Entry: Single; Approx fee: NAD 1,500 (USD ~105).
  • Transit e-Visa: Official name Namibia Transit e-Visa; Validity: up to 3 days; Maximum stay: 2-3 days; Entry: Single; Approx fee: NAD 500 (USD ~35).
  • Student e-Visa: Not typically issued via the online e-Visa platform; contact a Namibian embassy or consulate for options; if available, terms will be published on the portal.
  • Work e-Visa: Not available via e-Visa portal; requires embassy/consulate processing.

How to apply online

  • Create an account on the e-Visa portal and select Namibia e-Visa category.
  • Complete the online application form with personal data, passport details and travel plans.
  • Upload required documents: passport bio page (scanned), current passport-sized photo, travel itinerary, proof of accommodation, return/onward flight, and any invitation/letter from host if applicable.
  • Pay the visa fee and any portal processing fee with a supported card.
  • Submit the application and wait for an email notification; standard processing time is 3–5 working days.
  • If approved, you will receive the e-Visa by email; print a copy to carry and present at entry.

Tips for Afghanistan travelers

  • Advice and notes:
  • How far in advance to apply: Start the online application at least 3–4 weeks before travel; allow up to 6 weeks during peak periods.
  • Common rejection reasons for Afghanistan applicants: incomplete documents, passport validity issues, insufficient funds evidence, discrepancies between travel plans and documents, or failure to meet entry requirements.
