Tips for Afghanistan travelers

  • Apply Well in Advance: It is recommended to apply for a visa at least 4-6 weeks before your intended travel date to allow ample time for processing and potential delays.
  • Common Rejection Reasons: Incomplete application, insufficient financial proof, lack of strong ties to home country, unclear purpose of visit, invalid or insufficient travel insurance, and discrepancies in provided information are common reasons for rejection.
  • VFS/BLS vs. Direct Embassy: While VACs can offer convenience and streamlined submission, direct application at an embassy might sometimes provide clearer communication for specific queries. Check which option is available and best suited for your situation.
  • Current Travel Advisories: Always check the latest travel advisories from your government and the Moldovan authorities before planning your trip. Ensure your passport and other documents are up-to-date and meet all requirements.
  • Extension Options: Visa extensions within Moldova are possible in exceptional circumstances and must be applied for at the General Inspectorate for Migration. This is not guaranteed and requires strong justification.
