What you need

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you intend to leave the Schengen area, issued within the last 10 years, and have at least two blank pages.
  • Specific forms: Completed Schengen visa application form (one per applicant), signed; for Afghanistan travelers there is no online e-visa; you must submit via the Lithuanian embassy/consulate or an authorized visa application center. Check the mission’s site for the exact form download options.

  • Biometrics: Yes. You must provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at a Visa Application Center when you submit your application; biometric data is valid for 59 months across the Schengen area.
  • Travel health insurance: Required. Medical travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR, valid for all Schengen states, covering illness, accident, and emergency medical evacuation/repatriation; include an insurance certificate with policy number and dates.
