What you need

  • Passport validity: passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry; at least 2 blank visa pages.
  • Specific forms: complete the Libya online e-Visa application on the official portal; no separate DS-160/VAF forms.

  • Accommodation and return ticket: confirmed hotel booking or invitation letter; onward/return ticket.

  • Libya e-Visa - Work: official name: Work; validity up to 90 days; max stay as permitted by work permit (often 90 days per entry); single entry; approximate fee around USD 150.

Application process

  • How to apply online: visit the official portal at https://www.embassyoflibya.org/ and create an account.
  • Steps: fill the online e-Visa application form; upload required documents (passport scan, photo, hotel or invitation letter, flight itinerary); pay the visa fee online using available methods; submit.
  • Processing time: typical processing 3-5 working days; you will receive the approved e-Visa by email as a printable document.
  • How approval arrives: an electronic visa approval letter or e-Visa document is sent to the applicant's registered email and can be printed to travel with the passport.

Tips for Afghanistan travelers
