What you need

  • Schengen visa application form: completed, signed, and dated; there is no waiver for Afghan applicants; ensure all sections are filled truthfully.
  • Financial proof: bank statements for the last 3 months showing funds to cover your stay; if someone else sponsors you, include an official sponsorship letter and sponsor's bank statements.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: hotel bookings or invitation letter from a host in Estonia; round-trip flight reservation or onward travel plan.
  • Photo spec: two recent passport-size photos (35x45 mm) with a plain white background; full face; no hats or glasses unless medically required; photos must be in color.
  • Biometrics: yes. Biometrics data must be submitted at the visa application center unless you have given biometrics for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months.
  • Travel health insurance: evidence of travel medical insurance valid for the entire Schengen area with minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR for medical expenses including repatriation; policy must cover the entire stay in Estonia.
  • Additional documents: depending on your purpose (tourism, business, study, family visit) include invitation letters, employment or student letters, or conference registrations, or transcripts; provide any other documents requested by the consulate.
